You in a dream usually represent yourself, whether you were an active participant in the dream events (from a first-person perspective) or you were observing a version of yourself taking part in the dream (from a third-person perspective).
Sometimes you in a dream can represent: your life experience, a role you play, your desires, fears, or imagination, some other aspect of yourself.
[1]Your ‘self in a dream represents your conscious ego, which is the centre of your conscious mind but not of your total psyche. For some indication of how the latter differs from the ego, see Introduction, pages 50-51, and Seed.
[2]When you dream of yourself, as if from a third person’s perspective, this reveals objectivity and lucidity. Consider the way you see yourself and what you observe regarding your true self or your public persona.
[3]To encounter one’s self in a dream indicates that one has come face to face with issues and needs that can no longer be ignored.
[4]Seeing yourself in a dream represents either past or present life roles. All people and symbols are aspects of self.
